Interests
I thought it important to list my interests, and not just professional experience. I have a deep love of data mining and data extraction. I have a personal (and somewhat professional) interest in digital forensics and reconstruction. I have been experimenting with book reconstruction and deep recovery of damaged parchments. I have a love of historical books and texts, and the associated library and cataloging/indexing requirements thereof. My love of data has also created a large archive of e-books and a vast personal library of texts, books, magazines and newspapers for archival storage. I also have a huge interest in how data travels, social media and e-mail formats, including marketing and e-mail lists. I also have a huge personal and family interest in politics and understanding of how the real world works, including economics and international foreign affairs.

Magazines I subscribe to are: 2600, Foreign Affairs, Wired, Skeptics, Homeland Security, Intelligence Report, Janes Quarterly, Scouting Magazine, Infowars Magazine, International Business Times, Financial Times, Free Press, American Free Press, New Republic, The New American, Infowars RSS, Feedly RSS and more.

    Professional Associations

FBI Citizens Academy (http://www.fbi.gov/hq/ood/opca/outreach/citizens.htm)

My involvement: The San Francisco Division held its first academy, and I was honored to be a part of the select group. We learned many aspects of the FBI and how they really work. It was a great experience as I don’t believe many Americans realize what it takes to fight crime and the FBI’s role.

FBI Infragard (http://www.sfbay-infragard.org/)

My involvement: I am a part of the Infragard to keep current on local security matters which involve a wider range of issues other than basic network security. The networking potential and meeting others in the field is invaluable.

Official: InfraGard is a Partnership between the private sector and the U.S. government represented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The InfraGard initiative has been developed to encourage the exchange of information by the government and InfraGard members.
